Culturally, most people do not ask for encouragement. Often tragedy falls on someone through an unexpected event, or an unwanted health condition, then the individual is pressured into dealing with “life” in a way that they had never considered before. The “Why me” often triggers “What if …” and “If only …”. Often your own thoughts can be your worst enemy by dwelling on this inevitable spiral. But what can be done when it seems your thoughts are out of control?
To Encourage is “to inspire with courage, spirit, or confidence”. Courage is something I’ve personally acquired facing my own demons with help from others. After being run over by a truck April 7, 2002 and having my future and plans pulled out from under me, I had to face a different life that could not be planned for and didn’t have much hope. My wife and 11 week old (in the womb) son survived the crash with me. After many years of medical help and family support, I chose not to be defeated and instead chased reality and found another way to face it! My story of facing these challenges has become an inspiration to many I’ve never met before, plus friends and family. At one point in my recovery I had Forty-Four (44) doctors and was on many medications for a head injury, seizures, head to toe soft tissue damage, lack of sleep and constant pain. Today I have just one (1) doctor that supervises my ongoing recovery and I see him on a regular basis, plus two (2) other doctors that I see when needed. Through doctor supervision, intense exercise and a proper diet, I have been OFF all medications since August 3, 2008!
I am now a Personal Trainer fitness coach and have had the privilege of serving and encouraging others to accomplish their goals. All my clients see results! The spirit to help others face their own tough situations has motivated this blog. Confidence is something tested and proven. Having the right tools WILL extend our limitations.
I want to assure you that YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE. YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
There is more than just one way to face life’s challenges. I intend to share many tools acquired and other tools that are available to assist.
Keep in touch for more updates.
Never Give Up!
